Intel Stock Jumps After Bank of America Upgrades Shares to Buy
Intel shares rose in premarket trading on Thursday after Bank of America upgraded the chip maker to Buy from Underperform and raised its price target to $135 from $96.
The brokerage said demand for CPUs is improving and pointed to Intel’s position to benefit from the rise of agentic artificial intelligence. Intel stock was up about 4% to nearly 5% in premarket trading after the call.
The move came as semiconductor stocks also traded higher, alongside stronger market futures and renewed optimism around AI infrastructure spending.
AMD shares also moved higher in premarket trading as investors bought into the broader semiconductor group.
Intel stock climbed after Bank of America upgraded the shares to Buy and lifted its price target.
