Meta Says Facebook, Instagram and Other Services Were Hit by Widespread Outages
Meta said on Friday that users were having trouble accessing some of its services, after thousands of reports of outages affected Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp.
Users began reporting problems just before markets opened on Friday, and outage-tracking sites also showed a sharp rise in complaints. The issue appeared widespread, with people saying they could not access the platforms normally.
The reports pointed to disruptions across several of Meta’s social media and messaging apps at the same time. Meta said it was working on the problem.
