Apple Shares Jump After Strong Q2 Results and Higher Sales Outlook
Apple shares rose about 4% after the company reported stronger-than-expected fiscal second-quarter results. Revenue reached $111.2 billion, while iPhone sales climbed 21.7% to nearly $57 billion.
The company also gave a forecast for the current quarter that was above analyst estimates, saying revenue growth could be between 14% and 17%. Apple said demand for the iPhone 17 and Mac computers is helping drive sales, even as it faces supply constraints tied to a memory shortage.
The earnings report came as Wall Street weighed whether Apple’s growth is fully sustainable or partly helped by buyers moving purchases ahead. Analysts were split on the outlook, but the results and guidance helped send the stock to its sharpest rally in nine months. The report also drew extra attention after news that Tim Cook is stepping down as CEO.
