Nintendo Maintains Sales and Profit Outlook as Switch 2 Drives Strong Results
Nintendo reported a 23% increase in quarterly profits, supported by strong sales of its new Switch 2 console. Net profit for the nine months to December rose more than 50% compared to the previous period.
The success of the Switch 2 comes as the original Nintendo Switch became the company's best-selling console, with over 155 million units sold since its 2017 launch.
Despite the rising prices of memory chips, Nintendo said these increases are not having a major impact on earnings for the current financial year.
Looking ahead, Nintendo maintained its full-year sales and profit forecasts, showing confidence in ongoing demand for the Switch 2. The company reaffirmed its annual operating profit forecast at 370 billion yen, or about $2.4 billion.
Nintendo's profit is rising mainly because of strong sales of its new Switch 2 game console.
Nintendo said that rising memory chip prices are not significantly affecting its earnings this year.
The original Nintendo Switch has become the company's best-selling console ever, and the Switch 2 is continuing to drive strong sales and profits.
Nintendo is confident in future demand, as it kept its full-year sales and profit forecasts unchanged.
