GSK Agrees to Buy Nuvalent for $10.6 Billion in Oncology Push
GSK has agreed to acquire U.S. biotechnology company Nuvalent for $10.6 billion, after earlier reports said the two companies were in talks over a deal worth more than $9 billion.
The acquisition gives GSK three drug candidates for lung cancer and other assets to support its oncology pipeline. Two of the lung cancer drugs are currently under review by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for approval this year.
GSK said the deal is expected to add to revenue growth from 2027 and be accretive to core operating profit in 2027 and core earnings per share in 2029, including synergies and reprioritisation. The company described the purchase as part of its push in cancer treatments.
