Anthropic has released Claude Fable 5, a public version of its Mythos-class AI model, with restrictions designed to limit risky use. The company said the model is available to enterprise customers and paid subscribers.
Anthropic said questions about dangerous topics such as cybersecurity or bioweapons will be redirected to an older Opus model. The public rollout comes after an earlier preview of the model drew attention for its advanced cybersecurity capabilities.
The company previously held back a wider release of the original Claude Mythos preview because it was considered too skilled at hacking. Anthropic is positioning Fable 5 as a safer version of that technology for public use.
One report said Claude Fable 5 is twice as expensive as Anthropic’s previous flagship system.
