Terrain Minerals Ltd
Glance View
Terrain Minerals Ltd is an Australian mineral exploration company. It looks for economic deposits of gold, copper, nickel, lithium and other metals, mainly on projects in Western Australia. The company does not run mines; its job is to identify and test drill targets that could one day be developed into producing assets. Terrain makes money like most exploration juniors: it raises capital from investors and uses that cash to fund geology work, sampling, drilling and project evaluation. If a project becomes promising, the company can advance it itself, bring in a joint-venture partner, or sell the project rights to a larger mining group. Its customers, in a broad sense, are the mining companies and investors that back the exploration process and eventually the operators that may acquire or develop a discovery. What makes the business different is that its value depends on discovering resources in the ground, not on selling a finished product. Terrain sits early in the mining value chain, where success comes from choosing the right ground, proving up drill targets, and turning exploration results into a resource that a mine developer can use.
