IB Acquisition Corp
Glance View
IB Acquisition Corp is a special purpose acquisition company, or SPAC. It does not sell products or services itself. Instead, it raises money in the public market and looks for a private operating business to merge with or buy, which would turn that target into a public company. Its main “customers” are really its investors and the private company it may acquire. Public shareholders provide the cash, and the company’s job is to find and complete a deal that gives those investors a chance to own part of the future combined business. If a transaction closes, the acquired company becomes the real operating business behind the public listing. IB Acquisition Corp makes money only after it completes a deal and the target business starts operating as a public company. Until then, it is mostly a holding vehicle for cash and a search process. Its role in the market is different from a normal company because it is a shell created to take another business public rather than to run an existing business on its own.
