Campine NV produces recycled lead, plastic compounds and antimony oxides. The company is headquartered in Beerse, Antwerpen. The firm is organised into three operating divisions: Antimony, Plastics and Lead. Antimony trioxide (Sb2O3) is used as a flame retardant in the textile, plastics and cable industries and is also used as a catalyst in Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) production. Furthermore antimony trioxide has a number of applications in the glass, pigments and varistor industries. In its plastics division Campine NV produces masterbatches for the plastics industry, delivered in granulated form. In the lead recycling division, Campine Recycling converts lead from spent batteries and industrial waste into lead and lead alloys. Lead and lead alloys are then sold to manufacturers of batteries and lead plates, such as for X-ray protection.
