flatexDEGIRO AG
flatexDEGIRO AG is an online brokerage company that lets private investors buy and sell stocks, ETFs, funds, bonds, and derivatives through digital trading platforms. Its main brands are flatex and DEGIRO, which serve retail customers in several European countries. The company acts as a low-cost access point to the securities markets rather than a traditional full-service bank or advisor. It makes money mainly from trading fees, account-related charges, interest income on customer cash balances, and other brokerage services. Customers use its platforms to place trades themselves, so the business depends on transaction activity and on keeping customer assets and cash within its ecosystem. That gives the company a recurring, platform-like revenue base tied to how often investors trade and how much cash they hold. What makes flatexDEGIRO distinct is its focus on direct, digital self-directed investing across borders in Europe. Instead of selling advice or managed portfolios, it sells simple online access, execution, and custody services. That makes it a specialist infrastructure provider for individual investors who want to trade on their own at relatively low cost.

Strong Q1: flatexDEGIRO said Q1 2026 was a strong quarter, with revenue up 19% to EUR 174 million and net income up 28% to a record EUR 54 million.
Trading held up: Settled transactions rose 17% to 22.7 million, helped by market volatility and higher activity from existing customers.

Cost control: Marketing spending rose sharply, but personnel expenses fell 10% and admin costs stayed flat, supporting margin expansion.
Guidance unchanged: Management kept full-year 2026 guidance unchanged at 5% to 10% revenue growth and 5% to 15% net income growth, and reiterated 2027 targets.
New products: The company highlighted early momentum in crypto, securities lending, and deposit-as-a-service, while also preparing savings plans and pension-related products for Germany and other European markets.
