York Timber Holdings Ltd. engages in the operation of plantations, sawmills, and a plywood plant. The company is headquartered in Sabie, Mpumalanga. The firm is principally engaged in the operation of plantations, sawmills, a plywood plant and wholesale lumber sales. The company operates under three segments: Forestry, Processing plants and Wholesale. The company owns plantations in the Mpumalanga province on which it grows pine and eucalyptus trees that are cultivated and managed on a rotational basis. The Forestry segment sells its products to the Company's processing segment and to external customers. The Processing plants segment includes Sawmilling and Plywood divisions. The Sawmilling division includes sawmills that produce and sell a range of structural and industrial sawn timber products. The Plywood division includes plywood plant, which manufactures and sells plywood timber products. The Wholesale segment includes its warehouse located in Pretoria; distribution centers located Germiston and Cape Town; sale of timber-related products from sawmills, and the plywood plant.
