The Company’s programs in genetic diseases include betibeglogene autotemcel (beti-cel) as a treatment for transfusion-dependent B-thalassemia (TDT); LentiGlobin product candidate as a treatment for sickle cell disease (SCD), and elivaldogene autotemcel (eli-cel) as a treatment for cerebral adrenoleukodystrophy (CALD). The company develops LentiGlobin gene therapy for patients with SCD, a hereditary blood disorder resulting from a mutation in the b-globin gene that causes polymerization of hemoglobin proteins, resulting in abnormal red blood cell function. The beti-cel is marketed as ZYNTEGLO for the treatment of adult and adolescent patients with TDT in the European Union. Its product candidate also include SKYSONA for the treatment of patients with CALD in the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.
