Strong Q4 Performance: Dwarikesh Sugar reported a sharp jump in Q4 FY25 profit after tax to INR 46.33 crores, up from INR 22.89 crores YoY; revenue and EBITDA also grew strongly for the quarter.
Full Year Weakness: Despite a strong Q4, full-year results were significantly lower due to reduced sugarcane availability and lower crushing, impacting both sugar and ethanol output and profits.
Sugar Prices Firm: Sugar prices improved to around INR 4,000 per quintal in Q4, up from INR 3,800 for most of the year, supporting better realizations.
Ethanol Volumes Down: Full-year ethanol sales dropped sharply as molasses and juice availability declined; future ethanol production will depend on government pricing decisions.
Red Rot Impact: The Red Rot disease significantly hurt crop yields and sugar recovery, but varietal shifts and field initiatives are underway to mitigate this going forward.
Optimistic Outlook: Management expects the worst is behind and forecasts improved crushing, sugar, and ethanol production over the next two years as crop recovery takes hold.
Lean Balance Sheet: The company highlighted a strong financial position with INR 147.45 crores in long-term debt and prudent use of working capital.
