Sales Decline: Sales fell 5% in the first half to CHF 148 million, but would have been flat excluding currency effects. China exposure and FX headwinds were significant factors.
Margin Pressure & Recovery: Gross margin dropped by 400 bps YoY to just above 40%, but improved by 150 bps in Q2 as the company adjusted pricing and improved operations.
Profitability: EBIT grew 7% YoY in Q2 to CHF 7.2 million, aided by significant cost reductions under the 'Fit for Growth' program. Net profit was 6.8% of sales, down 90 bps YoY.
Cash Flow Turnaround: Free cash flow improved from a CHF 12 million outflow last year to a CHF 5.6 million inflow, driven by cost control and lower capex.
Guidance & Outlook: Full-year sales guided to CHF 265–290 million with a high single-digit EBIT margin, reflecting seasonality and uncertainty in key markets, especially China and renewables.
Midterm Ambitions Lowered: Previous targets for CHF 600 million sales and a 20%+ EBIT margin have been pushed further out; new guidance is for 4–7% annual growth and 10–15% EBIT margin.
Cost Discipline: Management remains focused on strict cost management and expects further benefits from the Fit for Growth program, with no new restructuring planned unless market conditions worsen.
Volume vs. Price: Management confirmed that recent revenue stability reflects 4–5% volume growth offset by similar price declines, especially in China and automotive.
