Amani Gold Ltd. engages in the acquisition and exploration of mineral properties in Australia and West Africa. The company is headquartered in Nedlands, Western Australia. The company went IPO on 2006-12-14. The firm operates through two segments, being mineral exploration and gold trading in Africa. The firm's project, the Giro Gold Project, located approximately 35 kilometers west of Randgold/ Anglo Ashanti’s producing approximately 16 million-ounce Kibali Mine. The Giro Gold Project comprises two exploration permits covering a surface area of approximately 497 square kilometers and lies within the Kilo-Moto Belt of the DRC, an under-explored greenstone belt which hosts Randgold Resources’ 17 million-ounce Kibali group of deposits within 35 kilometers of Giro. The Giro Gold Project area is underlain by prospective volcano sedimentary lithologies in a similar structural and lithological setting as the Kibali gold deposits.
