Buru Energy Ltd. engages in the exploration of oil and gas properties. The company is headquartered in Perth, Western Australia. The company went IPO on 2008-09-01. The firm is focused on exploring and developing the petroleum resources of the Canning Basin in the southwest of the Kimberley region of north-western Western Australia. The Company’s segments include Oil Production and Exploration. The Oil Production segment development and production of the ungani oilfield. The Exploration segment is focused on prospects in the Ungani oil trend, the Yulleroo area where gas resources have been identified in the Laurel Formation, the Lennard Shelf area, including the shut-in Blina and Sundown Oilfields and evaluation of the other areas in the Company’s portfolio. The Canning Basin has an area of approximately 530,000 square kilometers.
