Asante Gold Corp. operates as a gold exploration and development company. The company is headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia. The company went IPO on 2012-03-01. The firm is focused on developing projects including the Bibiani and Kubi Gold mines located on the prolific Bibiani and Ashanti Gold Belts. The company has six project sites in Ghana, West Africa, of which two are in the development stage and four in exploration. Ghana has the gold endowment in West Africa, with over 130Moz in minable reserves. The majority of gold deposits in Ghana are located in or adjacent to the Ashanti Belt and the Bibiani-Sefwi Belt. The Bibiani deposit is hosted within meta-sediments of the Kumasi-Afema basin, on the eastern margin of the Bibiani-Sefwi Belt. Kubi Gold mines is located in south west Ghana, immediately south of AngloGold Ashanti's Obuasi mine, approximately 66-million-ounce pre-mining resource, and 25 kilometers east of Perseus Mining Limited's approximately 6.6 million-ounce Edikan Gold Mine.
