DoorDash Inc
Glance View
DoorDash runs an online delivery marketplace that connects customers with local restaurants, grocery stores, convenience stores, and other merchants, then sends independent couriers to pick up and drop off the orders. Its app is the front door for people who want food or everyday items delivered, and it also gives merchants a way to reach customers without building their own delivery fleet. The company makes money mainly from fees charged to customers, merchants, and delivery partners when an order is placed and fulfilled through its platform. For restaurants and retailers, DoorDash is both a sales channel and a logistics layer: it helps generate demand, processes the order, and handles last-mile delivery. In some markets it also sells subscription programs and advertising tools that help merchants get more visibility in the app. What makes DoorDash different is that it sits in the middle of a three-sided marketplace. It has to keep enough customers ordering, enough merchants offering items, and enough couriers available to deliver quickly. That makes the business less like a traditional retailer and more like a logistics and local commerce network that earns money every time it successfully matches demand with supply.
What is Insider Trading?
Insider trading refers to the buying or selling of a company's stock by individuals with access to non-public, material information about the company.
While legal insider trading occurs when insiders follow disclosure rules, illegal insider trading involves trading based on confidential information and is prohibited by law.
Why is Insider Trading Important?
It isn't a coincidence that corporate executives seem to always buy at the right times. After all, they have access to every bit of company information you could ever want.
However, the fact that company executives have unique insights doesn't mean that individual investors are always left in the dark. Insider trading data is out there for all who want to use it.
Insiders might sell their shares for any number of reasons, but they buy them for only one: they think the price will rise.
