Glance View
Genprex, Inc. is a clinical-stage gene therapy company, which engages in the development of therapies for patients with cancer and diabetes. The company is headquartered in Austin, Texas and currently employs 17 full-time employees. The company went IPO on 2018-03-29. The firm is focused on developing treatments for cancer and diabetes. The firm's lead cancer drug candidate, REQORSA Immunogen therapy drug (also referred to as GPX-001), is being developed to treat non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and small cell lung cancer (SCLC). The active agent in REQORSA is a TUSC2 gene expressing plasmid that is encapsulated in a DOTAP cholesterol nanoparticle. The firm utilizes its ONCOPREX Nanoparticle Delivery System to deliver the TUSC2 gene expressing plasmid to cancer cells. Its diabetes gene therapy, also referred to as GPX-002, is designed to work by transforming alpha cells in the pancreas into functional beta-like cells, which can produce insulin but are distinct enough from beta cells to evade the body's immune system.
