Sales: Net sales were $16.4 million, up 4.4% year-over-year, driven by enterprise and specialty markets.
Profitability: Gross profit rose to $5.4 million (up 16.1%) and gross margin improved to 32.7% from 29.4%, helped by higher volumes and operating leverage.
Backlog: Sales order backlog and forward load jumped to $10.4 million (more than 50% higher than the prior-year quarter), which management expects to support further growth.
Bottom line: OCC reported a net loss of $398,000 (loss of $0.05 per share), an improvement versus a $1.1 million loss ($0.14 per share) in the year-ago quarter.
Data center demand: Management highlighted growing activity and quote requests in the data center market (especially multi-tenant and enterprise) with momentum into Q2.
Lightera partnership: The strategic collaboration with Lightera is already generating opportunities across cabling and connectivity (e.g., rollable ribbon and InvisiLight) and is expected to contribute to revenue growth.
Costs & hiring: SG&A increased slightly to $5.6 million (33.8% of sales) due to employee, contracted sales, and shipping costs; the company is hiring manufacturing staff in anticipation of higher demand.
Guidance: No formal revenue guidance was given, but management reiterated expectation of sales growth in fiscal 2026 and that seasonality typically makes the second half stronger.
