Its lead therapeutic candidate, LB1148, is an oral liquid formulation of the digestive enzyme inhibitor, tranexamic acid, intended to inhibit digestive enzyme activity and preserve gut integrity during intestinal stress resulting from, among other things, reduced blood flow to the intestine, infections, or due to surgery. Its LB1148 has been advanced to Phase III clinical trials for the return of bowel function indication, which is a protease inhibitor that helps to restore bowel function and reduce abdominal adhesions following surgery.
