Compañía Eléctrica del Litoral SA engages in the acquisition, production and distribution of electric energy. The Company’s activities also include the installation of electric networks and substations, construction and maintenance of the street lightning and the distribution and reparation of single and three-phase electric joints. In addition, it is involved in the distribution and sale of electric appliances, bicycles, home furnishings and tools. As of December 31, 2011, the Company owned such subsidiaries as Generadora Electrica Sauce Los Andes SA and Inmobiliaria del Litoral SA, and Chilquinta Energia SA was its majority shareholder with 75.61% of its interest.
