Fundamental Analysis
FY2024 Begins with Resilience Amid Challenges
2024-Q1 Earnings Call
In fiscal year 2024, the company has begun on a resilient note despite a market contraction of 11% to EUR 3.7 billion in revenue. Adjusted gross margin stands just under 45%, with a segment result margin of 22.4%. Current geopolitical situations and macroeconomic factors present significant headwinds, particularly impacting consumer computing, communications, and industrial demand due to prolonged inventory adjustments. However, the Automotive business demonstrates robustness, benefiting from market share gains in microcontroller units (MCUs) and diverse exposure to electric vehicles (xEVs), somewhat offsetting the decreased demand in standard applications. Given these conditions, the company has taken a cautious stance by adjusting and derisking projections for FY2024, signaling a transition year with resilient profitability as a testament to the firmness of its operating model.
