Cewe Stiftung & Co KGaA
Cewe makes personalized photo products and commercial print items. Its core business is turning customer photos into photo books, calendars, wall decorations, cards, and other printed keepsakes, mainly through online ordering and retail photo kiosks. It also serves business customers with printing and direct-mail services. Most of Cewe’s customers are everyday consumers who want custom photo gifts and prints, plus retailers and companies that need printed marketing materials. The company earns money when customers order these products or when business clients use its printing and logistics services. A key part of its model is that it combines software, production, and fulfillment, so it can take a digital file and deliver a finished physical product. What makes Cewe different is its position between digital photos and physical print. It does not just sell blank printing capacity; it helps customers design, order, and receive finished products that are customized one by one. That mix of software, manufacturing, and distribution gives it a clear niche in personal photo products and printed marketing materials.

Strong quarter: CEWE said Q2 was a strong quarter, with photofinishing revenue up 7.5% and group revenue up 6% excluding the Commercial Online Print business.
Big portfolio shift: The company highlighted two major strategic moves in Q2: the sale of Commercial Online Print, completed on July 2, and the signed acquisition of Kodak Moments, which is still awaiting closing.
Guidance held: Management confirmed its 2026 outlook, including revenue guidance of EUR 780 million to EUR 810 million, and said the group remains on track despite transaction costs and higher operating expenses.
Costs and cash flow: Q2 was hit by transaction costs, higher raw material, personnel, and IT spending, plus S/4HANA rollout effects, which pushed reported Q2 EBIT to minus EUR 7.4 million and free cash flow to minus EUR 18.3 million.
Photofinishing strength: The core photofinishing business remained healthy, with PHOTOBOOK sales up 1.5% and PHOTOBOOK turnover up 3%, while management said premiumization is helping.
Kodak deal: CEWE framed Kodak Moments as a growth platform that adds global scale, retail reach, and vertical integration through media kit production, while expanding the company beyond Europe.
