Industry
Metals & Mining

Ordell Minerals is a mineral exploration company, not a miner that ships finished metal. It looks for economic deposits in the ground, builds up exploration rights over prospective land, and spends capital on drilling, sampling, and geological studies to see whether a project is worth developing further. Its customers are not end consumers. The company’s main counterparties are investors who fund the exploration work, and, if a discovery is made, larger mining companies or project partners that may buy, joint-venture, or develop the asset. That means Ordell Minerals makes money mainly by raising capital to keep exploring, and by creating value in its ground through discovery and project advancement rather than by selling a product today. This is a high-risk, early-stage business model common in junior mining. The company’s role in the industry is to take on the first and riskiest part of mine development: finding targets, proving whether they contain commercially useful minerals, and packaging the project for the next stage if the geology looks promising.
