Its normal butanol is used in coatings textiles, intermediate for glycol ethers flotation agents, cleaners and floor polishes, extractant in production of drugs and antibiotics, hormones, vitamins, and others. Its iso butanol is used in flotation agents, floor polishes, anti-corrosion and anti-wear inhibitors in engine oils, and additive in gasoline.
