Profitability: Tryg reported a DKK 2.454 billion insurance service result and a 76.8% combined ratio, supported by improving underlying claims performance and lower-than-normal large and weather claims.
Revenue: Revenue grew 4.1% in DKK and 2.3% in local currencies. The full-year 2026 growth outlook remains around 3%, with management expecting growth to improve gradually in 2027.
Growth outlook: Year-to-date sales volumes were up 12% on average, and retention was stable or improving across business units. Management said it still expects to beat the 3.7% consensus growth estimate it referenced from Q2, but emphasized a gradual, disciplined recovery.
Capital: The solvency ratio rose to 203% from 196% last quarter. Tryg will review capital at year-end and consider extraordinary capital returns if appropriate, but did not provide a commitment or amount.
Strategy: New Mercedes and XPENG partnerships are intended to support motor sales and broader customer growth. Tryg also described an AI tool that helps claims handlers process complex documents.
Risks: Management cautioned that Norway’s unusually strong results may not persist through winter, that commercial Denmark’s growth recovery is taking longer, and that rising interest rates affected returns on the free investment portfolio.
