Ryder System Inc
Ryder System is a transportation and logistics company that helps businesses move goods and manage fleets of trucks. It rents and leases trucks and trailers, runs dedicated delivery fleets for customers, and provides warehouse and supply chain services. It also maintains vehicles and sells used trucks when they leave the fleet. Its main customers are companies that need reliable shipping and fleet support, such as manufacturers, retailers, distributors, and e-commerce shippers. Ryder makes money through rental and lease payments, contract logistics fees, fleet management services, maintenance work, and the sale of used vehicles and related equipment. What makes Ryder different is that it sits in the middle of the logistics chain as both a fleet owner and an outsourced operations partner. Many customers do not want to buy, service, and manage their own trucks and warehouses, so they hire Ryder to do that work for them. That gives Ryder a business tied to long-term service contracts and the practical need to keep goods moving.

Beat and raise: Ryder said first-quarter results came in ahead of its expectations, helped by better-than-expected used vehicle sales in Fleet Management, and it raised full-year 2026 EPS guidance to $14.05 to $14.80.
Contractual strength: Supply Chain posted record sales again, while Fleet Management and Dedicated also saw stronger sales activity and more customer commitment to longer-term contracts.
Cycle still soft: Management said freight conditions remain below normal, but there were early signs of improvement in rental, used vehicle pricing, and customer demand for dedicated capacity.
Initiatives driving growth: Ryder said its multiyear strategic initiatives are on track to deliver $70 million of incremental benefits in 2026, part of a $170 million program launched in 2024.
Capital and cash: The company kept its free cash flow outlook unchanged at $700 million to $800 million, with leverage at 269% and capital returns continuing through buybacks and dividends.
