Solid top line: PCCW said first-half consolidated revenue rose 7% to USD 2.59 billion, with EBITDA up 3% to USD 793 million, driven mainly by HKT and the Free TV business.
OTT momentum: Viu paid subscribers reached 15.3 million, up 11% year on year, helped by stronger content, local telco partnerships, and new distribution deals.
Ad setback: Viu’s advertising and sponsorship revenue fell from USD 153 million to USD 142 million because of the war in the Middle East and fewer events, though EBITDA margin stayed steady at 29%.
Free TV strength: ViuTV grew digital membership 4% to 3.4 million and said World Cup coverage lifted daily unique viewership by 25%, supporting ad demand.
AI push: Management highlighted AI as a key lever across subtitles, dubbing, CRM, recommendations, ad targeting, and content production, saying it should improve speed and margins over time.
Balance sheet: HKT’s pro forma net debt was stable at USD 5.55 billion, liquidity was about USD 2.9 billion, and the group said there is no imminent or significant debt due in 2026.
