The company is headquartered in New York City, New York and currently employs 43,000 full-time employees. The company went IPO on 2000-04-05. The firm's segments include U.S.; Asia; Latin America; Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA); and MetLife Holdings. The U.S. segment is organized into two businesses, such as Group Benefits, and Retirement and Income Solutions (RIS). The Asia segment offers products, including life insurance; accident and health insurance, and retirement and savings products.
