Vale SA engages in the production and exportation of iron ore, pellets, manganese, and iron alloys. The company is headquartered in Rio De Janeiro, Rio De Janeiro. The firm also produces iron ore pellets, manganese ore, ferroalloys, metallurgical and thermal coal, copper, platinum group metals (PGMs), gold, silver and cobalt. The firm is presently engaged in greenfield mineral exploration in six countries and operates logistics systems in Brazil and other regions of the world, including railroads, maritime terminals and ports, which are integrated with mining operations. In addition, the Company has a distribution center to support the delivery of iron ore worldwide and through associates and joint ventures, also has investments in energy and steel businesses.
