The Eastern Coal segment refers to the Takitimu mine and Timaru coal handling and distribution center. The company also has permits covering an area of over 10,000 hectares on the Buller coalfield. The company also owns a coal distribution center in Timaru. The Takitimu mine is located near the town of Nightcaps. The Canterbury Coal mine is located over 70 kilometers west of Christchurch. The company holds exploration permits at Ohai and Albury.
