Crombie Real Estate Investment Trust operates as an open-ended real estate investment trust. The company is headquartered in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. The company went IPO on 2006-03-23. The principal business of the Company is investing in retail, retail-related industrial, mixed-use, and office properties in Canada. Its property portfolio consists of full ownership interests in approximately 228 investment properties, and partial ownership interests in approximately 59 investment properties. Together these 287 properties contain approximately 18.2 million square feet of gross leasable area (GLA) in about 10 provinces. The company also holds partial ownership interests in approximately seven joint ventures, four of which holds properties. The company builds and owns a diversified portfolio, backed primarily by grocery and pharmacy tenants. The tenants in Company's portfolio of investment properties include Empire Company Limited, Shoppers Drug Mart, Province of Nova Scotia, Dollarama, Bank of Nova Scotia, Canadian Tire Group, Government of Canada and Giant Tiger, among others.
