The Bonaparte Basin covers an area of approximately 270,000 kilometers, which is around over 20,000 square kilometers onshore. The Perth Basin covers an area of approximately 100,000 square kilometers from the Yilgarn Craton in the east to the edge of the continental shelf in the west.
