Maxim Power Corp. engages in the acquisition, development, ownership, and operation of environmentally responsible power and power related project. The company is headquartered in Calgary, Alberta and currently employs 34 full-time employees. The firm has two power generating facilities, Milner 2 (M2) and HR Milner (Milner). The M2 power plant is a 204 megawatts (MW) natural gas-fired turbine generator located at the Milner generating station site near Grande Cache, Alberta. The Milner power plant is located near Grande Cache, Alberta and is a 150 MW dual fuel steam turbine generator. The company has a wind development project, Buffalo Atlee, which produces approximately 200 MW of wind generation capacity. The Company’s subsidiary includes Summit Coal LP, which owns metallurgical coal leases for Mine 14 and Mine 16S located north of Grande Cache, Alberta. The Mine 16S is located approximately 30 kilometers northwest of Mine 14 and represents over 1,792 hectares total area of coal leases.
