Samsung Launches Galaxy XR Headset to Compete with Apple and Meta
Samsung has announced the release of its new Galaxy XR mixed reality headset. The device is designed to compete with other leading headsets from Apple and Meta in the growing field of extended reality technology.
The Galaxy XR headset uses Google's Android XR operating system and is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 platform. It also features artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities provided by Google.
The headset allows users to experience virtual and mixed reality by displaying apps and other digital content in their field of view.
Samsung's Galaxy XR is priced at $1,800, which is about half the price of Apple's competing Vision Pro headset. Sales for the Galaxy XR start on Tuesday night.
The Galaxy XR is a mixed reality headset from Samsung that lets you experience virtual and augmented environments by showing apps and content directly in your view.
Samsung developed the Galaxy XR in partnership with Google, which provided AI features and the operating system, and Qualcomm, which supplied the processing platform.
