Stellantis Announces $13 Billion Investment to Expand U.S. Production
Stellantis, the parent company of Jeep and Chrysler, will invest $13 billion to grow its manufacturing operations in the United States over the next four years. This is the largest investment in the company’s 100-year history.
The company plans to increase U.S. production by 50%, add more than 5,000 new jobs, and launch five new vehicles. Hiring will take place at plants in Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana.
Some of the key plans include reopening the Belvidere, Illinois, plant for two new Jeep vehicles, assembling an all-new midsize truck in Toledo, Ohio, and producing a next-generation Dodge Durango in Detroit. The Warren, Michigan, factory will make a new electric and gas-powered SUV, while Kokomo, Indiana, will produce a new engine.
The company wants to increase its U.S. production by 50% and launch new vehicles, which will help it grow in the American market.
Stellantis plans to add more than 5,000 new jobs at its plants in several Midwest states.
Plants in Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana will see new jobs, new vehicle production, and modernization.
The investment and expansion plans are set to take place over the next four years.
