Ford Motor Company reported an 8.2% increase in its U.S. vehicle sales for the third quarter, reaching a total of 545,522 vehicles sold. This marks the seventh month in a row that Ford's sales have grown.
The company saw strong demand for its SUVs, pickup trucks, and especially its electric vehicles (EVs). Sales of Ford's EVs rose by 30.2% compared to the same period last year. This increase came ahead of federal electric vehicle incentives of up to $7,500 ending in September.
Rival automakers also posted gains, with General Motors' U.S. sales up 7.7% and Toyota's North American sales increasing nearly 16% in the third quarter.
