TSMC Reports 39% Revenue Jump in Second Quarter, Fueled by AI Demand
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), the world’s largest contract chipmaker, reported a 39% increase in revenue for the second quarter of the year. Revenue reached about NT$934 billion (US$32 billion) for the April to June period, surpassing analyst expectations.
The strong results were driven by high demand for chips used in artificial intelligence applications. TSMC makes chips for major tech companies such as Nvidia and Apple, who are heavily investing in AI technologies.
This significant growth also contributed to a 40% rise in TSMC’s revenue for the first half of the year, highlighting the company’s strong position in the technology supply chain.
TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) is the world’s largest manufacturer of semiconductor chips, supplying major technology companies.
The boost in revenue was mainly due to high demand for chips used in artificial intelligence, as more companies invest in AI-powered products and services.
TSMC supplies chips to well-known companies such as Nvidia and Apple.
The strong sales growth suggests that TSMC is well-positioned to benefit as demand for technology, especially related to AI, continues to rise.
